Maybe it’s because I was a corporate trainer early in my career, but I’ve always been drawn to the front of the room, the stage, or the mic to share what I know and help people grow. Where some people find public speaking terrifying, I find it energizing, exciting and I feed off the audience!
My aim is always to teach something, inspire action and make it “sticky” – so it stays with attendees through a few more speakers, the trek home, and whatever else life throws at them before they can apply what they learned.
I try to add a little extra value to every speaking engagement by setting up an event landing page with highlights, slides, links to resources, worksheets and more, so participants can look back and continue to get value long after the talk is over.
